To what people may think simple, there is a story behind it all.
There was once five friends. They were professional hikers who dreamt of climbing Everest. Together, they embarked on that arduous journey.
So it began.
The five fought their way up. Higher and higher, they confronted the bitter cold.
It was on the third day that a problem struck the five men. However, only one of them realised this. He went on to tell the rest of his friends that he thinks he cannot make it because his heart was aching really bad.
So with one less man, the remaining four decided to carry on.
The man who said he could not make it simply feigned heart-attack.
Hey, he was the strongest among the five in actual fact.
But why did he not continue the journey with the rest?
At this instant, I believe some of you would think that this guy here is a slacker. Am I right? Perhaps the rest would think that he is just chickening out.
You're wrong.
He left them because there was only enough food to sustain four men in that sort of blizzard.

To what extent would you go for a stranger in need?
One day, as you were walking back home from school...
You heard a scream at the top of somebody's voice.
Astounded, you turned around.
My goodness.
Some twenty year old man was rammed by a cement mixer. On-lookers were too stunned to make a move.
You knew first-aid and you had your phone with you.
But, you were scared.
----------------------------------------------------
If you had the ability to make a change in someone else's life, would you step up and go for it? Or shrink back in fear?
What if that someone is your friend?
In our daily lives, we won't really get to experience such a dramatic scenario all the time. Yet, we are still faced with the same problem of whether we should reach out and help others or not.
Recognise that.

Burnout today.
