Let the trees bend and know who they are.
One who expects may tend towards surmise.
Keep your mind and your arms wide open; ready to accept anything that comes, welcoming every new or un-new experience.
All the time.
or are they there?

Sigh.
Seems that my favourite lesson just ended TODAY. T.T!!! ARghhh. I thought there would be more to debate about and stuff. I love it because it's a time that I can put my mind off studies stuff for a while and ponder upon what seems more applicable to society. GP and Econs are other subjects in my favour as well. :D Hmmm the rest for now can't really apply as much as those mentioned :/

"An apple a day, keeps the doctor away."
Hmmm. When I become a doctor, I don't need apples! -.- Ugh.
I'm sian-ed from this cold.
Not swine flu.

I wonder.
What is it like to see the same face every single day, the flaws of the same person (perhaps newly discovered ones), the boring habits of a person, and yet, above all, to choose to love that special someone every single day of your life?
Is love considered blind when one chooses to love someone else above all their weaknesses?
Nope, it isn't. If love is ever considered blind, that person has not understood what love is in the first place.
To love is to reach the state of full acceptance of a being, to care for, empathise, apologise to, forgive, respect, and understand a person, for who he or she is, with the sole intention of being a sign of God's love to that person.
If God did not accept us for who we are, He would not have loved us and died on the cross just to save our sins.
Our very innate nature of being humans shows that we love someone else, more often than not, to expect them to love us back.
Let x be the amount we give, and y be the amount we hope to receive. They are generally related by this equation:
y=x
Then this would be the graph drawn:
God's love is infinite and it goes beyond our comprehension.
How much are we able to give, solely to give, and not give, with expectations to receive?
Sigh.
Isn't it like a losing game?
If someone has so much love in him, would others understand? Would they take him for granted?
"What's there to gain when one loves?" is the question that will resound in our heads for sure.
First of all, ask yourself what your purpose for loving someone is.
If it is to be loved in return, then sorry my friend, you may not always get love back.
If it is to bring someone closer to God through faith, you would not have the thought of expecting love back to you because you literally make yourself an instrument of God's love. That means, you draw love from God, who is love Himself, and not from your own love, to give to others.
Having someone to love you back is a blessing from God.
----------------------------------------------------
There is no way someone can fully understand another for the very fact that we are all made unique and we are not that person. I believe that even clones may not understand each other fully.
But what we CAN do is to love someone. And when I mean love, it is free, full, faithful, and fruitful.
Can love be measured?
"I give you one love point today", "I love you many many much", "I love you forever and ever and ever and ever."
At the end of the day, if love does not last forever, it is simply, not love.
If we love someone for a while, then stopped loving, it would mean that we have only tried to love.
-------------------------------------------------
We are made from love and we are made to love.
We are capable of loving...
...sometimes, even in speechlessness.
"Love conquers all."
when it is time.

Laziness
Remember the starfish story my dad related to me quite some time ago? Just the other day my mum told me something that made me think a little more too. :)
I was about to throw away a Vitagen bottle but she told me to recycle it and said "like the starfish that were thrown into the sea, every little we do counts." or something along that line. How did I feel? Reluctant. Why? Because it was INCONVENIENT.
But anyway, I thought about it a while and went on to wash the Vitagen bottle for recycling.
INCONVENIENCE- "that which gives trouble, embarrassment, or uneasiness; disadvantage; anything that disturbs quiet, impedes prosperity, or increases the difficulty of action or success; as, one inconvenience of life is poverty." (As quoted from "http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/inconvenience")
Will the simple act of recycling discommode one that much actually?
Hmmm...
What spurs one to say the word 'inconvenient' anyway? Is it TRULY inconvenience? Or could it be sheer ignorance to intrinsic laziness?
Think about all the unwanted worksheets and pieces of paper that you have thrown away last week. How much would that amount to? Now, let that amount be multiplied by roughly 6,000,000,000. Even if is 1 gram of paper, that would give a total of 6 million tonnes of paper! WOW.
Recycle that.
-----------------------------------------------------
Negative unity
As we all know, and as they all report, "the Earth is dying."
Many people believe that doomsday will arrive on December 21, 2012.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCuaR8KehEk&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11iCmzGnOI8
Take a look at this scenario:
"Eh, you got study for the test or not? You didn't? Oh great! I didn't study too! Okay, don't study for the test alright? Let's fail together."
Haha, seems familiar, doesn't it?
Now, let's adopt that mentality for a while and bring it to the context of 2012.
Well, let's say if the world was really going to end in 2012, then would we have the mentality of "since we're all going to die anyway, let's just (heck about the purpose of what we do) and enjoy ourselves"?
Who cares? Really.
If tomorrow were to be OUR last day here on Earth and someone so happened to make you really, REALLY angry today, what would you do to him/her tomorrow? Would you adopt that "since we're going to die" mentality and skin that fella alive? How much compassion will there be in YOU to FORGIVE?
What is the point of making the world a better place when we can never erase the scars that we have left on the Earth? What meaning would it be for us to conserve and protect the environment if the chlorofluorocarbons
True to some extent that the Earth may not be able to be saved. However, I would think that concerted efforts to conserve the environment and treat it with respect give Earth a palliative treatment.
-----------------------------------------------------
There is just so much talk about reducing, reusing and recycling... But how effective is it if we do not respond to the situation?
-----------------------------------------------------
"Since we have sinned so much, what difference would it make if we sin a bit more?"
Repentance precedes reconciliation.
we love and protect.

Slalom-ed in the evening with Shiwei. No more purple cups ever again! Cracks man.
Back-crossing.
Eagles.
David and Goliath!

Wa seh, kena whacked by the shadow of the lamp!
~1 hour. Back to the days after the O's. :D It's time to buck up on cones than on slides. Youtube videos coming up soon! The end of this year!

I randomly picked 019632! :O!
Faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

I think that Thursday's talk made even more firm about my thoughts about life.
Thursday began with SD (Student Development) lesson and all the J2s had to gather in the PAC (Performing Arts Centre). The speakers were Dr John Hui and Father David Garcia. Great speakers.
And so, the topic on euthanasia and what life is about endured.
Unfortunately, we had to hand in our reflection sheet to the teachers who wanted to collect them for checking to ensure that we were not sleeping throughout the session.
I'll just briefly touch on the main things mentioned until I get back my golden piece of paper.
Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself:
I found this really meaningful as well. When I pursue this career, may God always remind me of the doctor's dictum. That is:
to relief often,
but to comfort always.
Who was Jesus then? :)
----------------------------------------------------
Talk to me if you want it elaborate cos I can't spare the time to elaborate here for now.
may there be HOPE.
For Easter came.

Even if I talk till the cows come home... Will you people understand?
It is silly to hide away from who you should be, who you are, and who you can be.
-------------------------------------------------------
Tomorrow would be 14 days without blogging. Haha, I guess this is the longest absence so far. Anyway, there are a couple of funny things that happened to me in this span of 14 days. Well, all of which gave me new insights though some of them may be er..quite embarrassing.
1. A man taunted me in the MRT by just giving an open remark in the public, saying in Mandarin, "Copy, copy, copy, copy, copy, copy, copy... In school copy, MRT also copy..."
2. I brought a long umbrella to school. (Lol, usually you won't see JC STUDENTS bringing such an umbie)
3. I knocked into a man by accident. (Wait, wait, wait... I know what you're thinking of. That's not what I meant!!! I'm straight please. -.-)
Other than that... Well. If you would like to know what my responses were to those situations, haha, just ask me. :p
--------------------------------------------------------
Once my studies have settled down more or less, I'll be back here with all that I have reflected in solitude.
do not put on a mask,
for it just cows you up.
Face it just as you are.

Lately, I've been thinking. Haha, yeah I always have. But well, it's about something different. I have still been doing my own reflection, just that it's not up on the blog. There are simply too many things to say at this point of time. As my exams draw nearer, and nearer, I guess I will have to call it a temporary closure sooner or later.
I have thought through what I should do about it and I guess this shall be the conclusion for this matter for now:

http://daveyboyd.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/sand-castle.jpg
I really can't say anything now though. For what I will want to keep dear, I do not want to build a sandcastle, no matter how wonderfully designed it may be.
Sandcastles also remind me of friendship. It takes time to build up. It still can be brought up even after facing the crashing waves of the sea. It may become even more beautiful than it was before, and most of all, it takes patience through the process.
---------------------------------------------
Lord, teach me the best design of building a sandcastle, so that when I build a real castle, it will stay there forever.
For now, please don't let it rain...

Sometimes, I think friendship is really like a rich pot of soup. You place all sorts of ingredients into the pot and you can really try almost anything. The more you put into it, the richer and more wholesome it gets. Well... Try to keep it healthy, do not add in too much unnecessary oil and msg. Not forgetting the TLC when you stir it all up, and a prayer before you start your meal. :)
Amen.
------------------------------------------------
So... How long does it take to cook the soup? That...
I wonder.

Shoot. This NAPFA is the worst one that I have ever done all these years. Hmmm. Although I still have around 2 more weeks to get myself back to shape, why do they have to place 2.4 in front of the 5 items to make it 6 items in all?

PTM turned out quite well I guess. My sis and bro tagged along too. Anyway, it reinforced and made clear what I should do. I'm really thankful that understanding may be achieved through continuous communication. It is truly the efforts of people that make that possible.
I'm glad to have a teacher like Mr Lim.
Most of all, I'm blessed to have great parents.
--------------------------------------------
Try to decipher the ONE meaning of these:
1. "On your mark, get set, GO!" (phew...no false start)
2. "Hey! I heard there will be fireworks at 8pm sharp! Let's watch it together. :)"
Hahaha, I bet most of you wouldn't get it. It doesn't refer to a person, but how I feel right now.
----------------------------------------------------
Anyway...

1. List down as many names of the people you know who fall into the 8 respective categories.
2. Place the names anywhere in the picture you find most appropriate! :)
Hey, this is no whole-sale copying from the RE lessons that I have in school okay!!! Haha, I just find the idea rather applicable in this post of mine.
-------------------------------------------------------
'Busy' is what we often say that we are. Very much so for many of us, but how busy are we really? It still boils down to the fundamentals of how one prioritises his or her time. There are times when I get too busy that I am not able to talk that much with friends whom I really want to know how they are doing. As I have made my second step on the tertiary level, my range of friends increases. Same goes with everyone else. Ah, yeah, needless to say actually. The thing is, with so many friends around you, who would you choose to be in your inner circle?
You know, I have tried it out before. There were many times that I have tried allowing a lot of people to come to my inner circle. But it turns out that it got too tiring for me. It seemed like a burden instead. I guess there is a limit to the amount of friends that you can include in that inner circle of yours. Depending on one's lifestyle, age, family and many other factors, the inner circle varies among individuals. Some people would have more, others less. I guess everyone will be just as burdened if they had too many people in their inner circle at any one time. Hmmm... But I think the interesting thing is that our inner circle does move as we walk through the various phases of our lives.
Many times, we feel distant from the people whom we place in our inner circle. It feels as if they aren't even close at all. Things like 'i will be there for you anytime', and 'you can count on me anytime' are pretty assuring, aren't they? But as much as these words can be a form of affirmation to your close friend, it may very well seem like a big fat lie when you aren't there for them when they need you. I believe that we should not take a cynical outlook when friends aren't really there for us when we need them because if they are really our true friends, like what a friend of mine used to say, they are just... Standing by. :)
What constitutes a true friend? I'm sure you guys all have never-ending lists of adjectives to describe one. But I guess it would be one who has the wisdom of knowing when to take a pro-active stance to console and understand, and a passive stance to make themselves as far as possible, available for their friend to find solace.
There has to be THAT wisdom.
We human beings are FINITE. A cup of water we are. The water signifies the love that we have in our hearts. If we share our hearts with one another, or in other words, when we love one another, the water is shared among you and your friends. Let's give the water that one has a number. Let's say 10. If this guy hears four of his friends out for say 2 hours each. As the saying goes 'a burden shared, is a burden halved'; all of them felt 'lighter' after that. But in terms of water points, this guy has only 2 water points left!
Yes, he does feel drained. He IS drained as he gives his love to his four other friends. On earth here, our love is expressed in rather tangible ways as we are ourselves, a 'tangible' being. I do believe that there are people around who can or have reached that level of expressing love in intangible ways to others. Ah well, back to tangible. It is mainly expressed in the forms of buying gifts (money) and/or time (spending time).
We as humans are just so limited, really. For example, if my future wife asks for the moon, the most that I can do is to bring her there with all the money that I have got. I cannot pluck it out from the sky like I would with apples and pears. In other words, I am NOT God. We are not. Everything that we do is at the cost of another. Haha, I'd rather hold my tongue because I think you guys already know the two words that I have used before. (hint: o/c)
So you see, there is a limit to each and everyone of us here. Unless we fill ourselves with the love of God, we, with our love, will wither like a plant in winter. Only God's love is everlasting. Serious! Go try loving someone with your love and heck about God in your love life, just heck about Him. I think that no matter how much both of you are able to say to one another, no matter how well yall clique with one another, even though yall may last for your lifetime as husband and wife, there will surely be that something that yall will lack. And that something is God.
Not in any relationship now? Well, let's take it down to a level that all of us should be able to comprehend better- friends.
As I have mentioned about the cup of water earlier and how finite we are, I think yall would have gotten the idea already. If you are able to talk to your friends at that spiritual level, and think about life and all its meaning, I think that THAT friendship that you have, is a deep one.
Being spiritual and thinking about life's meaning doesn't mean to take up the calling to become a priest, nun, or any religious. What bullshit if you thought so! Do not associate so much people who have faith with the religious. "Wow, you have lots of faith...so next time you want to be a priest la?" Nonsense. Neither am I saying that it is bad and it is a crime being a religious. I just want to clarify to anyone out there reading this, that it doesn't take you to become a religious to have faith. Flip through that book that you have been shunning from EVERYDAY of your life and you'll know! David was a shepherd. Matthew was a tax collector. There are many other characters out there too.
Anyway, coming back, if you ever want to lend someone your listening ear, or your shoulder to cry on, just remember that you CAN try giving them YOUR love.
But ask yourself then, how long will YOUR love last?
----------------------------------------------------
Ah, I really can go on and on like this. There is just SO much meaning in almost anything if you just place GOD in the innermost circle of your life. Trust me, that's all you ever need to do in this life. You would even find the most boring things in life the most meaningful of all. :)
-------------------------------------------------
I have been picking up my exercising routine now that Nationals are over.
Well, when friends are busy, exercising has usually been the other solution that I can turn to.
Endorphins, adrenaline, serotonin...
They help me release it all.
----------------------------------------------------
I need time, it will only be a sign of love. I do not think it's now, but I will hold on to you if you have me in your heart too. Love conquers all, so does it conquer time, one of its greatest enemies...
...cos I just want you to be here, with me.
