Laziness
Remember the starfish story my dad related to me quite some time ago? Just the other day my mum told me something that made me think a little more too. :)
I was about to throw away a Vitagen bottle but she told me to recycle it and said "like the starfish that were thrown into the sea, every little we do counts." or something along that line. How did I feel? Reluctant. Why? Because it was INCONVENIENT.
But anyway, I thought about it a while and went on to wash the Vitagen bottle for recycling.
INCONVENIENCE- "that which gives trouble, embarrassment, or uneasiness; disadvantage; anything that disturbs quiet, impedes prosperity, or increases the difficulty of action or success; as, one inconvenience of life is poverty." Will the simple act of recycling discommode one that much actually?
Hmmm...
What spurs one to say the word 'inconvenient' anyway? Is it TRULY inconvenience? Or could it be sheer ignorance to intrinsic laziness?
Think about all the unwanted worksheets and pieces of paper that you have thrown away last week. How much would that amount to? Now, let that amount be multiplied by roughly 6,000,000,000. Even if is 1 gram of paper, that would give a total of 6 million tonnes of paper! WOW.
Recycle that.

As we all know, and as they all report, "the Earth is dying."
Many people believe that doomsday will arrive on December 21, 2012.

Take a look at this scenario:
"Eh, you got study for the test or not? You didn't? Oh great! I didn't study too! Okay, don't study for the test alright? Let's fail together."
Haha, seems familiar, doesn't it?
Now, let's adopt that mentality for a while and bring it to the context of 2012.
Well, let's say if the world was really going to end in 2012, then would we have the mentality of "since we're all going to die anyway, let's just (heck about the purpose of what we do) and enjoy ourselves"?
Who cares? Really.
If tomorrow were to be OUR last day here on Earth and someone so happened to make you really, REALLY angry today, what would you do to him/her tomorrow? Would you adopt that "since we're going to die" mentality and skin that fella alive? How much compassion will there be in YOU to FORGIVE?
What is the point of making the world a better place when we can never erase the scars that we have left on the Earth? What meaning would it be for us to conserve and protect the environment if the chlorofluorocarbons
True to some extent that the Earth may not be able to be saved. However, I would think that concerted efforts to conserve the environment and treat it with respect give Earth a palliative treatment.

There is just so much talk about reducing, reusing and recycling... But how effective is it if we do not respond to the situation?
