Security is antithetical to the fear of feeling emptiness.
No matter who one is, regardless of shape, size, colour, gender, culture, religion, any individual will desire for the sense of security. Be it obtained from people, from pets (animals), or from higher beings, the fear of being left completely alone that makes one feel empty, is unanimous among all of us.
People search for this security in their lives. Some find it in their families, some find it among their friends. Others in the things that they do. Perhaps work, maybe prayer.
Although being alone does not equate to loneliness, I cannot say for certain that when you are alone, you will not become lonely...
Sigh.
Why do we seem so frail and weak in this aspect especially?
Tell me, when was the last time that you felt lonely when you were alone? When was the last time that you felt that surge of emptiness overwhelming you?
You know the answers.
One may search and search and search, for the things that keep that fear away. But will that loneliness really be gone? From whom can they obtain that perennial security?
Everything of this world will come to pass...
--------------------------------------------------
I served another wedding mass today in the morning. :) It was TT's aunt. It is always so heartening to see another couple getting married. It's through marriage that they become a unit together with God.
Hmmm...
Security, as one.
Is having a life-long partner the answer to our heart's deepest desire to eradicate that emptiness in us?
Sigh.
Everything of this world will STILL come to pass...
-----------------------------------------------------
If we want to look for perpetual security, we must therefore, not look for it in this world. The transience of the faces here on earth, are all degradable matter. We are destructible, mortal, and vulnerable.
Who can say that he is superhuman? That he is able to stand up for, protect, and love someone FOREVER? Which being with a soul can say that?
Haha, tell me about it.
Your spouse is just as human as you are. Marriage vows encompass one's life time only.
Again, one may not have to be a religious to have faith and have God in the centre of their lives.
How are couples supposed to empower each other anyway? They are daily reminders for each other about The Way. This is where they are supposed to grow. This is the reason why they should not feel lonely anymore. THIS is the reason why man and woman were made for each other.
Don't you see it already?
God IS the reason! He should be the one filling the emptiness in both of them, THROUGH both of them! How can we say forever to another?
We just, can't.
Face it.
It would be romantic to say "I will love you forever and ever and ever and ever."
But that would only be for the life-time of that person.
Because this 'forever' for a human, would be ALL that he could ever possibly give.
------------------------------------------------------
Thank you God for the times when I can be alone. Teach me to be still and know that You alone, are God. Fill me with Your great love and guide me in everything I do everyday. Grant me the faith and the capacity to love the one meant for me and let me be a reminder for her everyday about You...
...so that she will NEVER experience emptiness, only security, in You.
...till death do us part."
